A matric percentage calculator is a simple online tool that converts your SSC exam marks into a percentage and BISE letter grade. Instead of manual calculation, students enter their obtained marks and total marks to instantly get their percentage and grade.
This tool is useful for 9th class (SSC Part 1) and 10th class (SSC Part 2) students across all BISE boards in Pakistan including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Karachi, and others.
Step 1
Add up all your subject marks to get total obtained marks.
Step 2
Divide obtained marks by total marks (1100 for Punjab matric).
Step 3
Multiply by 100 to get your percentage, then match with grade chart.
Different classes and boards have different total marks. Use the correct total marks when calculating your percentage.
| Class / Level | Total Marks | Board(s) |
|---|---|---|
| 10th Class (SSC Part 2) | 1100 | All Punjab BISE boards |
| 9th Class (SSC Part 1) | 550 | All Punjab BISE boards |
| 10th Class Combined 9th+10th | 1100 | Some boards present combined |
| BISE Karachi 10th Class | 850 | BSEK Karachi |
| AKU-EB (Aga Khan Board) | 600 | Private board |
Always verify the exact total marks with your board. Use the custom total field in the calculator above for non-standard totals.
FSc College Admission
Your matric percentage forms 50% of merit for most FSc (Intermediate) college admissions in Punjab. A higher matric percentage gives you access to better colleges.
Scholarship Eligibility
Many government scholarships (HEC, PEEF, Ehsaas) require a minimum of 60-70% in matric. Top scholarships require 80%+ (A1 grade).
Vocational and Technical Programs
TEVTA and similar technical programs use your matric percentage as the primary selection criterion for diploma and certificate courses.
University Merit
For MBBS, Engineering, and other degree programs, your matric percentage contributes 10-20% of the final merit score alongside FSc and entry test results.
Confidence and Goal-Setting
Knowing your exact percentage helps you set realistic targets for FSc and plan which subjects need more focus before university entry tests.
Divide your obtained marks by the total marks and multiply by 100. Formula: Percentage = (Obtained Marks / Total Marks) x 100. For example: 880 / 1100 x 100 = 80%.
The standard total marks for matric (10th class SSC Part 2) in all Punjab BISE boards is 1100. For 9th class (SSC Part 1), the total is typically 550.
Grade A1 (Outstanding) requires 80% or above. Grade A (Excellent) is 70-79%, Grade B (Good) is 60-69%, Grade C (Satisfactory) is 50-59%, Grade D (Average) is 40-49%, Grade E (Pass) is 33-39%, and Grade F (Fail) is below 33%.
Students must score at least 33% overall and at least 33% in each individual subject to pass matric. In a 1100-mark exam, the minimum passing score is 363 marks.
For 9th class (SSC Part 1), enter your total obtained marks and set the total to 550. The formula remains the same: (Obtained / 550) x 100.
Yes. The calculator supports any total marks value. Simply change the Total Marks field to your board's specific total (e.g. 900 for some boards) and enter your obtained marks.
Yes. Your matric percentage is a key component of merit for FSc and government college admissions. Most Punjab colleges use matric percentage as 50-100% of the merit formula.
A1 (80%+) = 5.0 GPA, A (70-79%) = 4.0 GPA, B (60-69%) = 3.0 GPA, C (50-59%) = 2.0 GPA, D (40-49%) = 1.0 GPA, E (33-39%) = 0.5 GPA, F (below 33%) = 0.0 GPA.
